Holding Space For Tenderness

November 2023 to January 2024

Holding Space For Tenderness is a community cyanotype project by the Midtown Arts District’s, Pop-Up Gallery Group in collaboration with artist Carmen Lizardo. Once finished, the work will Pop-Up in the storefront windows at 708 Broadway. This display will be open to the public throughout the project's duration, allowing the work to be seen and appreciated by the entire community.

Drop in to our hands-on workshop, bring a significant object that fits in your hand, or a piece of writing. Your hands will be photographed holding your object. These photo negatives will be used to create Cyanotype prints, which will be displayed as part of the larger installation. You will learn about the Cyanotype process and see examples of the final prints.
